Project Description:
EPD managed the entitlement through the Bureau of Land Management of a 690-megawatt solar photovoltaic power plant on a 7,100-acre site. EPD managed the preparation of an Environmental Impact Statement in compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act, and engaged with the Moapa Band of Paiute Indians, whose reservation borders the site, and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Nevada Department of Wildlife, and Clark County, Nevada.
The project Record of Decision was published in the Federal Register in May 2020 and will be the largest solar installation in U.S. history, generating enough electricity to power 260,000 homes in the region.
