Graduating from the University of California, Davis with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Atmospheric Sciences and Meteorology in 2023, Elaina has a foundation in meteorology, climatology, and data analysis. Before coming to EPD, Elaina served as an Air Quality Specialist Intern with Breathe California Sacramento! With experience in Air Quality Environmental compliance, permitting, CEQA + NEPA, Elaina is well-equipped to help the EPD team navigate complex regulatory landscapes. With a genuine passion for understanding atmospheric dynamics and their impact on weather patterns, climate change, and environmental sustainability, Elaina is committed to applying scientific knowledge to make an impact at EPD.
On a personal note, Elaina has volunteered with Nā Keiki O Hawai’i club at UC Davis, where she served as Dance Chair, showcasing Polynesian culture through Hula, Tahitian, Poi, and Samoan dance. Additionally, she served as Landscape Manager at the UC Davis Campus Center for the Environment highlighting her commitment to creating and maintaining sustainability initiatives.
