We’re thrilled to share that the Snug Harbor Surf Park project has been unanimously approved by the Newport Beach City Council.
As the City of Newport Beach’s selected CEQA consultant, EPD led environmental compliance, preparing an expedited Environmental Impact Report (EIR) and providing peer review for all technical studies. Our proactive approach ensured a streamlined review process, clear communication between stakeholders, and defensible CEQA documentation that allowed the project to advance with full confidence.
Project Highlights:
* Redevelopment of 15.08 acres at the Newport Beach Golf Course
* 5 acres of surf lagoons surrounded by viewing decks, pools, and amenities
* Three-story clubhouse with a surf academy, yoga & fitness center, restaurant, retail, and café
* Two-story athlete accommodation building with 20 surf-facing units
EPD delivered a complex EIR on an accelerated schedule and coordinated multi-disciplinary technical studies from eight specialized consultants. Our team facilitated transparent CEQA review and public engagement that supported unanimous Planning Commission and City Council approvals
“Just wanted to say thank you to you and your team for all the great work on the Surf Park. It has been an exciting journey so far… It has been a pleasure working with EPD and looking forward to many years of working together on different projects.”
